Crested Saguaro
Saguaros bloom during May and June.
The creamy white blossoms open
in the evening and remain open
in the early sunlight hours.

Organ Pipe Cactus
In June and July the whie flowers,
tinged with pink, open at night
and close the next morning.

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument,
about 34 miles south of Ajo, and
near the heart of the Sonoran Desert.

Ajo Plaza
This Spanish Colonial Revival style
town square was built in 1917.

Across the street from Ajo Plaza are two mission-style churches.
The Catholic Church was built in 1924 and the Federated Church in 1926
